A novel azo dye ligand, 2,2′‐(1,3‐phenylenebis(diazene‐2,1‐diyl))bis(4‐chlorophenol), was synthesized from the diazotization of m ‐phenelyenediamine and coupling with p ‐chlorophenol in alkaline medium. Mononuclear Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes of the azo ligand (H2L) were prepared and characterized using elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, electron spin resonance, magnetic susceptibility, conductance measurements and thermal analyses. The UV–visible, 1H NMR and mass spectra of the ligand and its chelates were also recorded. The analytical data showed that the metal‐to‐ligand ratio in the mononuclear azo complexes was 1:1. Diffuse reflectance and magnetic moment measurements revealed the complexes to have octahedral geometry. The infrared spectral data showed that the chelation behaviour of the ligand towards transition metal ions was through phenolic oxygen and azo nitrogen atoms. The electronic spectral results indicated the existence of π → π* (phenyl rings) and n → π* (─N═N) and confirmed the mentioned structure. Molar conductivity revealed the non‐electrolytic nature of all chelates. The presence of water molecules in all complexes was supported by thermal studies. Molecular docking was used to predict the binding between H2L and the receptors of breast cancer mutant 3hb5‐oxidoreductase, crystal structure of Escherichia coli (3 t88) and crystal structure of Staphylococcus aureus (3q8u). The molecular and electronic structure of H2L was optimized theoretically and the quantum chemical parameters were calculated. In addition, the effects of the H2L azo ligand and its complexes on the inhibition of bacterial or fungal growth were evaluated. Utilisation of Anagrus nilaparvatae is a promising and effective method for planthoppers manipulation. Twenty-seven components of remote lemongrass (Cymbopogon distans) oil were identified by GC/MS and nine volatiles were selected for behavioural experiments. In this study, we noted that the remote lemongrass oil was attractive to female A. nilaparvatae at concentrations of 0.1 and 1 mg/L. α-Pinene, β-pinene, eucalyptol, carveol and D-carvone attracted female wasps in the dose-dependent bioassays. Blend 1 (a mixture of eucalyptol, D-carvone, carveol, α-pinene, and β-pinene with ratios of remote lemongrass oil volatiles of 625:80:11:5:3) attracted female wasps at 10 mg/L, while blend 2 (a mixture of the same five volatiles at the same loading ratio) attracted them at 0.1 and 1 mg/L. These results suggested that plant essential oils could be attractants for natural enemies to control pests. The ratios of volatiles in the mixtures affect the attractiveness of the synthetic mixtures. 相似文献

Metal(II) and metal(III) coordination compounds of griseofulvin (GFV) drug were synthesized. The structure of the ligand was determined on the basis of elemental analyses, infrared and 1H NMR spectroscopies and thermal studies. GFV behaved as a neutral tridentate chelating agent and coordinated to metal ions through three oxygen atoms: two methoxy groups and oxygen atom of furan ring. Metal complexes were characterized by means of elemental analyses and molar conductance, spectral (infrared, electron spin resonance) and thermal studies. All the complexes showed molar conductance behaviour corresponding to an electrolytic nature. All the complexes showed octahedral geometry, except [Zn(GFV)Cl]Cl that showed tetrahedral geometry. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to understand and estimate the contribution of each interaction in the formation of the assembly using several theoretical models. The computed parameters from DFT calculations for structure optimizations and vibrational frequencies were in good agreement with the experimental data. Newly synthesized metal complexes in addition to GFV were examined against opportunistic pathogens. The biological applications of complexes were studied with two Gram‐positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus) and two Gram‐negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Neisseria gonorrhoeae) as well as their antifungal activity against Candida albicans. Results suggested that metal complexes were more biologically sensitive than free ligand. The complexes showed a moderate inhibition of MCF7 breast cancer cell line growth. Molecular docking studies further helped in understanding the mode of action of the compounds through their various interactions with the crystal structures of: human serum albumin (PDB: 5FUO), Staphylococcus aureus nucleoside (PDB: 3Q8U), human acetylcholinesterase (PDB: 1B41) and the human DNA–Topo I complex (PDB: 1SC7). 相似文献

Nitrogen doped nano porous graphene was used as an efficient sorbent in solid‐phase extraction process for simultaneous separation and pre‐concentration of metal ions lead (II), cadmium(II), and chromium(III)) in biological samples. Ultrasonic assisted in‐syringe dispersive micro solid phase extraction coupled with micro sampling atomic absorption spectrometry was utilized for the determination of metal ions. Nitrogen doped nano porous graphene was synthesized as a nano sorbent by chemical vapour deposition method. Methane and aniline were used as carbon and nitrogen sources. The characterization of sorbent was performed by field emission scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscope, fourier transform infrared, chemical element analysis and raman analysis. Effective parameters on the extraction efficiency such as pH, sorbent dosage, eluent volume and eluent concentration were optimized by central composite design and desirability function. Experimental results indicate that the optimal conditions for this extraction were pH = 6.4, 1.42 mg of sorbent, 100 μL of eluent, and 0.84 mol L‐1 of eluent concentration. The detection limits are as low as 1.5, 0.3 and 0.9 μg L‐1 for lead, cadmium, and chromium, respectively. The intra‐day precisions were 3.6, 4.38 and 2.94 and Inter‐day precision were 4.83, 5.26 and 4.52 for lead, cadmium, and chromium, respectively. Method performance was investigated by determination of mentioned heavy metals in complicated biological matrixes such as human plasma, urine and saliva samples with good recoveries. 相似文献

Coordination compounds of Fe(III), Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Mn(II) ions were synthesized from the ligand [4,4′‐((((ethane‐1,2‐diylbis(oxy))bis(2,1‐phenylene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(azanylylidene))diphenol]ethane (H2L) derived from the condensation of bisaldehyde and 4‐aminophenol. Microanalysis, magnetic susceptibility, infrared, 1H NMR and mass spectroscopies, molar conductance, X ray powder diffraction and thermal analysis were used to confirm the structure of the synthesized chelates. According to the data obtained, the composition of the 1:1 metal ion–bis‐Schiff base ligand was found to be [M(H2L)(H2O)2]Cln (M = Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Mn(II), n = 2; Fe(III), n = 3). Magnetic susceptibility measurements and reflectance spectra suggested an octahedral geometry for the complexes. Central metals ions and bis‐Schiff base coordinated together via O2 and N2 donor sites which as evident from infrared spectra. The Gaussian09 program was applied to optimize the structural formula for the investigated Schiff base ligand. The energy gaps and other important theoretical parameters were calculated applying the DFT/B3LYP method. Molecular docking using AutoDock tools was utilized to explain the experimental behaviour of the Schiff base ligand towards proteins of Bacillus subtilis (5 h67), Escherichia coli (3 t88), Proteus vulgaris (5i39) and Staphylococcus aureus (3ty7) microorganisms through theoretical calculations. The docked protein receptors were investigated and the energies of hydrogen bonding were calculated. These complexes were then subjected to in vitro antibacterial studies against several organisms, both Gram negative (P. vulgaris and E. coli) and Gram positive (S. pyogones and B. subtilis). This paper proposes a procedure to deal with n-layered inclusion based composites with imperfect interfaces (which conditions consist of displacement or stress vector jumps) respecting spherical symmetry. For that purpose, “discontinuity matrices” have been introduced. These matrices have been derived for several classical interface-models and an asymptotic method has been used to determine some of them. A self-consistent condition based on a strain-energy equivalence in the case of inclusion-matrix type composite materials is restated for n-layered inclusions with imperfect interfaces and applied to get estimates of such composites materials. The remarkable feature of the presently self consistent approach is that it does not need any tedious algebra providing the attached interface models respect the spherical symmetry. The present Generalized Self Consistent Model (GSCM) is then used to study size effects and mismatch in composites reinforced by coated inclusions. 相似文献

Abstract Dibenzothiophene (DBT) and related methylated derivatives are known to be among the most persistent and probably the most toxic PAH in the marine environment. Their analysis and their fate by photo-oxidation and biodegradation were studied. The methylated DBT isomers, provided that they are resolved by high resolution GC, were used as organic markers of oil pollution in oysters. The determination of the relative distribution of the four monomethyl DBT allowed to characterize the source of pollution in an oyster-area in the North Brittany (France). The fate of methylated DBT compounds was studied in a controlled sea-water enclosure where Arabian light oil was spilled. Analysis of the weathered oil showed that: (i) oil was degraded by photo-oxidation at a rate of 0.004% day; (ii) the half-lives of photolysis of methylated DBT was dependent upon the number of methyl groups on the aromatic nucleus: 8 days for DBT, 20 days for methyl-1 DBT and more than 2 years for trimethylated DBT. Compounds solubilized in the water column were identified as methyl-substituted dibenzothiophene sulfoxides and sulfones by HPLC with synchrofluorescence and GC-flame photometric detection. The metabolic pathway of DBT was established in vitro. Rat microsomes transformed this substrate to DBT-5-oxide and subsequently to DBT-5-dioxide. Such an enzymatic S-oxidation was shown to be principally Cytochrome-P-450 dependent. It is suggested that the mixed-function oxidase (MFO) activity of marine species could be evaluated by this S-oxidation test in addition to the usual aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase. 相似文献
